In all cases, a rush of chemicals flood the body and you are partially disabled. The variation is wide and is experienced and managed in many ways. The biggest error humans make is in attempting to change the situation or circumstance in order to gain the relief that is desperately sought. Sometimes changing the situation seems impossible further heightening the perceived threat.
